Can anyone give me some information on the correct tail length for a GSP?

I think it is 1/3 of the full length of the tail... On 1 of my dogs his tail is
10 in. On the 2nd dog his tail is 6in..   hope some one here knows more than I do...you can try www.uplandbirddog.com some one on there will know...              Mike

Thanks Mike,

The breader docked my pups tail at 3/4 length but I wasn't sure if that was the norm.  I've had another GSP with a tail about 6" in length.  I never stopped to ask anyone what the correct length was or if there was any reason for different tail lengths.  I'm guessing maybe something to do with them running around in the brush, getting it nicked or something.
