About two years ago I was doing pipeline work near a building in the bush. Turned out to be the old Cross Lake school.
I was working near it again, last week. Digging dug outs/ponds, for cattle water (4).

Ine this next picture you can se a square hole in the roof. No idea why the original builder would make an attic access on the outside ! It isn't covered.

Two years ago I figured it could be fixed up.
Not now. The open attic has caused the celing to fall apart (lath/plaster).
Wood rotted. Floor has now badly buckled.
It is sitting on blocks, on ground. They have sunk into the dirt, so it is now twisting the building badly.
Such a shame to let this old building go like this.
I talked with the owner. He is in rough shape and can no longer work on stuff. Health shot etc.
Building is toast now.

I remember that building very well. Too bad it's been let run down. Is that hole in the roof where the chimney used to be?

Could be ?
Most likely ....
