My brittany's got problems.

My 2 year old female brittany won't retrieve. No matter what i do she has no interest in retrieving a quail, a ball or anything at all. I'm about ready to give up on her she seems hopeless. I got her from a grrreat line of bird dogs. It's like she's defected. anything i can do?

She should have been retreiving by the time she was 6-8 weeks old. She may never fetch for you. You had better get a book that explains FORCED FETCHING, it is something I advocate as a last ditch effort. Talk with the Breeder, if she is from such a great line, he should be able to help. If she is gun shy and won't fetch, she is just a pet. Love her and get yourself a hunting dog sometime.

Forcing a dog is a time consuming ordeal.
