hey all i just wanted to share some of my knowledge about this matter being birds not laying.
I had a problem with a group of my chukar not laying and could not figure out why - i tried everything to get them to lay with no success. I was maybe getting 1% production out of 100 birds.. Anyways this is what i did
I dropped the birds to a 16% layer crumbles for 2 weeks the birds started doubling production every day after the 4th day. After 2 weeks i put them back on the gamebird breeder = 24% protein and that kicked them up to their final notch of about 75 % production.
- was it a fluke you may ask? no not at all - i talked to a guy that was trying to force lay some bobwhites and he tried it and had the same success
