how old before chicks are ready to move to grower food?

well it's really up to your own preference. I used to just feed them starter idefinitely.

But now...I switch to grower when they mature so they get plump.

So a good time would be when they mature.

i usualy guage it by starting to feed them the laymash when they start laying their first eggs
