Leg bands

I would like to band the bobwhites that I am releasing for I.D. purposes but have never used bands previously .  Can anyone recommend what type & size bands to use as well as where to obtain them  ?  Do they require special equipment to apply ? Thanks in advance for your suggestions & help.
