Would like to plant some grain sorghum(Milo). I live in the north were it is typically not grown.  I found were I can buy it by the pound to do a test run on a small scale. How much square footage of ground would a pound cover? Should I broadcast or plant in rows? If planting in rows what should distance between rows, depth, and # of seeds together or separation? Any help from anyone with experience would be helpfull. Thanks

I am not sure i plant it with my grain drill works great here.
I have planted it using a speader that worked ok just disk spread and run back over it lightly with the disk.
SOmething you can try i have done this as well. Buy a 50lb bag of wild bird feed for $11 disk use the spreader and cover lightly with the disk. you get 2 types of millo, 3-4 types of millett some tall sorgum and a soybean plant or 3 and allot of sunflowers. makes some good cover and has plenty of seed that matures at different times
