Ok my parents bought our first house, it is on a wooded four acres, half is pine trees, the other half is pretty open hardwood. Ok I am in FFA and am going to raise bobs this spring, well I would like to release some on our property. I kind of plan on plant a small plot of cover in the hardwood part of our woods, I just want to make some cover for the quail, I heard that guinias will help on keeping away hawks, and some predators so I will be getting some of them also, well what kind of plants should I plant for cover and food? I have a gamebird feeder in our back yard so I will put a little bit of food in there. THank you for your help.

This is what I recommend for anyone attempting to establish a "wild" population of quail on a small piece of property. Quail will stay in a 40 acre parcel if they have everything they need there. With a few acres, you better do something to "anchor" them on your property.
