Day 2.. Will finish putting netting up in the morning.. Windy day and working on it by myself.
Have been working on the garden as parts come in.. So not real fast.. For those who have asked.. The pen itself is 100'x20'. I am going to put a 20'x10' brooder house on the north side, so the flight Bobs will stay in the same pen until sold. I am figuring 1000 quail at a time for this size pen. If any of you pros have input let me know..

I have had several Private messages asking me for more details.. He is my best attempt at them..

I drove 5' t-post 2'deep leaving them 3' above the ground.. I spaced them 10 foot apart down the length and 20' across. So an overall dimension of 100'x20'.
I then used 30' of 1 1/2' sch40 PVC, slipping them over the t=posts. (side note here: use belled PVC.. I did about half belled and regret the appearance of the pieces I used couplings on.) This made the center 9.5 or so feet tall in the center.

I then attached 2x4s down the length with 1 1/2" u-bolts. 37" above the ground.. I pulled the Netting over the top and attached it down the 2x4s with staples.

My next step is to attach 36' r-panel down the length and south end.

Have been sick the last few days, so will update the first of next week.

As a response to the snow issue.. I live just south of central Texas  getting a rare to no snow. This pen would need to be supplemented with more bracing if you plan on building one in an area with more Winter Precipitation.

Your right on the Mississippi site. The actual construction mats came from a breeder in Lubbock, not to mention I read you site often.

Food for thought on the snow accumulation.......my experience with PVC is that the smaller diameter pipe will flex more before breaking than the larger diameter, therefore, possibly taking more of a beating with a snow load before breaking?  If a person had access to a PVC conduit bender (heater), one could possibly preform the arches in order to reduce the stress on the pipe when using large diameter PVC.

Maybe a large bed of hot coals to heat pipe over and then bend it to any shape you want?    dk2

Finally got ove the Flu. Was horrible, the entire family had it.. Here is a really bad picture of the work we did on the pen today. We put the r-panel around the bottom. Money has seemed to dry up so I will be moving an old Chicken tractor I made a few years ago up and modifying it to serve as a Brooding house. Will have my wife take some pictures of the who setup over the next week or so as we go.

good progress given you've been under the weather.
You should be able to contain a fair amount of birds in there.
