My Coturnix are eight and nine days old at this point.  They were hatched out of two separate colony's.  I am noticing a pretty significant size difference in about five of my thirty seven birds.  The five being quite smaller.  Is there any thing to be looking for as to why they are not maturing at the same rate?  As far as the size difference it is about double.  I did not hatch these they were purchased at a day and two days old.  So I guess there could be a discrepancy there (maybe).  Any info would be great.  Thanks!

Looks like you have some regular Coturnix, and some Jumbo Brown Coturn ix.  By absolutely sure there is enough room at the feeders for twice as many birds as you have, or separate them..  That way, the larger ones can not push the others away from the feed.

Hey, Thanks alot Wildergamebirds,  I currently have two feeders in the brooder.  I am thinking though with that kind of size difference maybe my best bet is separating them.  Although so far they have not shown any signs of fighting or creating a pecking order but I bet its coming huh!  I bought them all from the same fellow on the same day but I do remember him saying they were from two different "boxes".   He told us some hatched out on Sat and the others on Sun.  Oh well I am just happy to have my birds now! Once again Thanks for the advice!

Looks to me like you just have a few weak ones in there. To much size difference even if one is normal and one is a jumbo...

So just let nature take its course,  don't sweat the small stuff and move on.  I still have not heard back from the seller.  But the rest of the birds seem to be getting along just fine!  Ya think it would do any good to isolate them, would they eat more by themselves?  Its one of those things I guess time will tell!

Even if they are the normal one you will never want to put them in the same cage as the other ones because they are either culls or normal small ones and I would not waste my time on 4 or 5 of them. I would cull them and go on about my business.
