I agree, this baiting game is getting quite old.

You have to take into factor the huge taxes that these countries add to the gas.

When I was in the U.S.N. over seas, back in the beginning of the 70's gas in the states were $.50 and over seas in Italy, Greece, Spain were pushing $2.00US.

Those countries get taxed to death either way you look at it. I would like to know how they pay for there fuel. They have to have one hell of a disposal income, or they can write it off when they fill their taxes.

Either way, we still all get screwed. Big business runs the governments no matter what country you live in.

When everybody gets 50 mpg, the gas will be $10 a gallon.  $10 a gallon is ok, if I'm getting 100 mpg pulling 5 tons of payload down the road.

that is the same  c109 they have been doing for over 30 years. They want you to conserve on Elect, Water, Gas(natural), oil. They give out rebates for all the new products. All the products are used, and now what happens? Consumer usage has dropped and now the board of directors is having a panic attack that they are not seeing any new revenue. So what do they do? They jack the price up to make up for the losses due to conservation practices.

It is nothing more then  c109, selling new product for a win fall, when thats run it course, start jacking the prices up again until the circle is complete.

It's always been that way as Pheasant Hollow mentioned. Your rides are getting considerable better mileage than ours also. EPA (Enviromental Protection Agency) makes sure that we don't get great mileage (diesel ban).  Alot of American cars are sold overseas with a diesel engine, 50-100mpg, and are not permitted to be sold here?   :-|

I was looking at a brand new truck the other day, it weighed 84,000lbs.  I could put my face in the exhaust pipe and there was absolutely no sign of diesel fuel, it was just warm air, kinda like a torpedo heater.  They claimed the air coming out of the pipe was cleaner than it was before going into the intake?  I was impressed, no smoke......no smell.

The prices were being changed at my gas station of choice today as I drove by.
Can't wait to see which way they went. Up or down?
