Well Ode, when you are ready for 124 F, I've got just the place for you to go hiking.

Where I lived in the Arava in Israel, south of the Dead Sea. In august it stays above 100 F for weeks, and thats the morning temperature.

A little different here in northern MI, it was -11 when I looked this morn, stiff breeze blowing.  Supposed to be this way for the week.
lol im good ,jake thanks for the invite, but ill stick with the paradise temps we have here ...82 for a high 63 for a low ..running around in a sundress with bare feet watering my flowers is my idea of winter... c53

What a mess out there right about now. 2.5 inches of snow yesterday and then by mid day the freezing rain started and it hasn't stopped since.

It kind of looks like the Ice Palace from the movie Doctor Zhivago.

I have been out there twice so far de-icing the satellite dishes.

Heat wave here this morn, + 4 F, pretty good after several days of - 20 and -30F.

Global warming is going to kick in any minute though.

17* at 8AM. The snow is coming down. Kids are home from school again.
Weather man is calling for 6-12 or 10-20. All depends when and where the snow/rain mix line is.
Should be a treacherous ride home for most. For me 4x4 and will take it slow.
The last ice storm cost me 100 bucks. I got stuck half way through an intersection and the light turned red.
Cop pulled me over and when I explained the situation he said I wasn't sliding. Jerk... So I payed up.
Judge always picks the cops side anyway. 28 years working at the same company driving the same road and this guy is having a bad day.  s20

Well, the hubby and I are both taking a snow day today... Figured it would probably be a good idea since we've been awake since 2:45am listening to trucks, 4x4 trucks, stuck in front of our house. One's transmission apparently locked up and he kept revving the engine. Nice way to be awoken. And since then, it's been a steady stream of vehicles sitting around trying to decide how to drive on 3 inches of snow and ice on the road. Stupid. There's still 2 stuck in the ditch up the road a bit that they apparently gave up on for now. So, It's still freezing rain and it's around 30 degrees and we're supposed to get a couple more inches of snow later. I can't wait..... s176

......it's freezing rain!  Every imbecile in the country is calling 911 because a power line is down or they seen a spark when a tree touches the power lines.  What ever happened to calling the power company?  They need to have a mandatory "Common Sense" course at public schools, then of course they'd probably have some educated idiot teaching it?   :-|

wintry weather here 2 to 4 inches snow with a lot of flooding rain.
What a mess it is and its difficult to shovel slushy snow with water everywhere.
