heat wave here , 55F this morn, high forecast of 65.   The past week had many morns 40 or under, driving to town can see many trees already bit by frost. We had one here last week but a lot of moisture plus had my tomatoes covered so didnt hurt anything. But mid september is past so anything can happen now.

:-|  I should have kept on cuttin'/gatherin' firewood myself during all this fine weather.......instead of playing around in the woods with the tractor/endloader/bushhog.

I spent all day yesterday up on the hill splitting logs that were better then 6 ft in dia. My sorry as son-in-law can come up with the sorry @$$-ed excuses to help.

The last time I did big pieces like this, was in the 70's and I was early 30 years of age, and at that time, it was still a two man operation.

4 more cords to go and I should be all set. Then I have to sweep the chimney.

Well here it is 2:16pm and not a drop of rain in may area since the light drizzle this morning. Winds picking up at an average @ 2.5-mph and gusts up to 6-mph. Mostly sunny with some scattered clouds and 81° and 17% humidity.

Here's hoping that this stays to the east and we miss it.
