Temperature consensus

What is or was the temps at your house this morning?

The temps bottomed out here on the Wood/Wirt county, WV morning at 7am.

We had 19* calm winds and ice crystal frost.

Yahoo weather and Accuweather are telling me it is only 19*.

How accurate do you feel these Internet weather stations are compared to your outside weather stations or thermometers?

I see we still don't have a Preview or Spell CHeck all I get is Fetching preview... and a blank spell check

-20c here this morning. Weather man is normally a few degrees warmer due to their station is at a bit higher elevation.

Stuck my arms out the window about a half hour ago, rattled some small antlers for a few minutes. Just got back from watching a small buck Mule Deer that came into the yard

A wee bit cool here.....wonder when the cold snap will get here this year

I lied. I had the Fire Marshall drop by for a permit to burn some brush piles. His truck says -28c.
Also about the Deer. Turned out at least three bucks showed up ! Maybe a couple Does, as there were five seen at one time. No fear ! I'm burning brush piles and they were wondering around all morning. One time I was headed back to the truck, , saw one between me and the house. So I raised my arms and took 2-4 septs towards him. Then again, again....when he finally realized I was headed towards me, he started doing them same ! We got within 60' of each other ! He finally turned and trotted towards the house.Laughing, I turned and walked back to the turck. Looked back when I got to the truck, and the little fellow is following me
This type of behaviour continued all morning. They would come out of the bush line within 50' of the running diesel truck !
Anyway, a very cool (good) morning !

Reeves,

I have been visiting the site you sent me. I can't believe the size of those deer, they are huge! The largest deer that I got of my property was in 2000 and it weighed 135. The doe I got this year so far was 120. Last years doe was a 115.

What are they eating to get that big in body weight, and what minerals are in the ground for the massive antler structure?

Weather here @ 6am 49* and 50% chance of rain between 8am and 2pm.

w 15km wind and -18 on the weather thingy: means about -25c at my place.

Steve, AB and Sask have the biggest Deer. I've read it has to do with the harsh envroment, they need this bigger body to withstand the very cold, windy, long winters.
Works the same for Moose. AK, Yukon etc areas have Moose so massive it makes the ones down south & into the States look like runts.

Not sure about why the antler size is so much bigger. You may have to go back several pages in the hunting section to see all the hawgs taken this year.
I've taken a few nice ones, but none like I've seen this year !

isn't -20*C some where around -4*F??? Anyway that is cold to work in...brrrrrrr...it is always below 10*F here till about 1:00pm and then it drops below 10*F at about 5:00pm again so working out side in bare hands is just hard...but working with staples and wire with gloves on is way to slow and clumsy! Anway enjoy the weather Reeves, you will be stuck with it for a little longer than us...haha
