Like a heat wave here today! It got to 40-ish. Snow melted some, but now it's back to frigid temps I suppose. I just wish spring would get here already. Whats that groundhog gonna tell us tomorrow?

Well we got a dusting of the white stuff they call snow over night and the temps bottomed out at 11* The snow is still on the ground and the pens are covered in snow as well.

High for the day today is 27* so they say  s020 , It is now 29* and sunshine. 50% chance of snow showers, what ever that means, and cloudy. Lows tonight 17*

More of the same weather wise for the rest of the week.

Venison Stew on the menu and cooking as I type.

Keep warm!

Single digits both sides of zero.

The last couple weeks these temps have caused a bit of snow melt. This in turn has caused the snow pack on back roads to turn into glare ice. Travel is interesting.
It has also caused an ice surface on the snow pack in fields etc.
This is causing travel and finding food for all wild critters some grief.

This will also have an effect on snow packs on steep slopes. With this hard surface, slides (avalanches) will happen more frequently .
Which is of no concern to me.....it's so flat here I can see Manatoba !

The snow continued through out the day yesterday with just about 1 inch of powdered snow. The highest it went yesterday was 25* and winds averaging 3.5mph.

Today: This morning, -5.6* calm wind and down right cold  s53 . High for today only 27* with a chance of early flurries and partly to mostly cloudy by the afternoon and into the night.

Keep the fires burning!
