yeah, I like the "leanto(s) for a few reasons:

1) it keeps the hiding areas out of the way allowing the main run of the pen to be open area for bird movement.

2) it utilizes the sight barrier on the sides of the pen as one of the panels keeping the design very simple (half a sheet of plywood).

3) with the area in the center open, it leaves room for me to manuever catching birds without tripping over everything.

That's a very good idea. More open for flying and easier to walk around in when other types of cover are just in your way. I'll keep that in mind when giving people suggestions and maybe building a few pens of mine. Good job on the flight pen.

For those that asked for the bird pics.....the birds have been transferred from the brood house to the flight pen and I have uploaded pics showing the birds breaking in their new home.
