We dye about 500 eggs a year for the local schools around Easter. Never tried it on quail though. Most quail are easily recognizable when they hatch out for the most part unless you mix the darker colored Coturnix together. We use blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, pink, and a neon color we've been experimenting with that has a glowing appearance in the dark.
