How old do bobwhites need to be before you can start using nipple drinkers.

A guy I know that raises them by the 1000's showed me his brood houses and I was very surprised to see nipple waterers in there. He said the little one's use them with no problem. I'm sure he meant at least a week old, but maybe not.

I use nipple waters on quail from day 1. for the fisrt 3 days I also give them standing water, but after that it's nipples or thirsty. If you poke a couple of beaks into them they learn fast, and what one does they all want to do

I just used nipple waterers for the first time on a batch of 400 chukars. The chicks were already drinking from them before I had completely emptied the first box of chicks. They were probably three days old by the time I got them shipped to me. I think you could do it from day one.
