This summer a young lad in the Abbotsford B.C. area had to de-populate his chickens due to the AI in that area. His flock did not have it. Well , I felt for him. Knew what I would feel. So , I offered him a trio of Pheasants. Took a couple hours off work , on the way to work , to stop by the airport to ship the promised birds. Got an e-mail that they got there OK & are eating & drinking OK !

For those that want to see what I sent him :

http://www.gbwf.org/pheasants/amherst.html

The birds shipped were hatched this spring , so the male will not look like that till next year , after he molts out. It will be fun for him to see the male transform into one of the most beautiful birds on the planet !

(PS : All I charged was shipping)

Way to go Reeves!!......that young lad will never forget that, and what wonderful birds you sent him, he will truly enjoy watching them and caring for them.

Makes me feel wonderful knowing there are giving and thoughtful people out there like you!!

those birds are beautiful.  it was really kind and generous of you to give them to the boy.  having to depopulate his birds for no reason-man! that sucks.  where chickens are gone, pheasants will take their place  :)  im sure he is very thankful to you for that special gift.

I've been going through my old topics and posts and found this one. Thought I'd up-date (because it still bugs me !  :x )

Turns out that kid had the birds sold even before he got them !
As soon as they got there , they were sent to another person !
He also stiffed me on shipping !
Cost me a pile of money, from shipping, for the birds and lost time at work.
About $500.00 if my memory serves.

I remember his name is Matt Lister.
Turns out he screwed a lot of people out of money and birds.
Last news I had of him, he had started an auction site.
I can only imagine how much money "stuck" to his hands with that !

No good deed goes un-punished, I guess.

That is exactly what I intended to post. (Left his name, above because I believe all scum should be known to all).

It didn't.
Since then I've given all kinds of birds away.
Will continue to do so.
(except the new expensive ones I will be getting)

A thoughtful deed on your part, a bad deed on his part.

He will be acquainted one day with the fact that the one positively serious use of a Louisville Slugger is for knee capping.

Stay your course, its a good one.

That stinks Reeves, maybe he'll run in the ditch in your front yard someday?

I bet there's "Wanted Posters" stapled to every pole and post in the entire province?

He is in Abbotsford B.C.
At least he was, at that time.

The auction site he has (had ?) was in connection to an MSN bird site.
I forget the name.

I contacted the owner to let them know what he did to me and others.
She said I was just trying to stir up ka ka.

Sort of a funny site.
When AI was a (bigger) thing and they (Gov) was looking at huge cull areas, I posted info on shipping and bio security on a persons place.
Bunch of them on that site attacked me , told me I was full of it etc.

About a year later, after my warnings, the hammer fell.
Gov was culling all farms in huge areas. The big places, as well as the back yard birds.

I haven't been to that MSN site in many years now.

But my memory for bad deals/people never ends !
