Hi, I have my first batch of Texas A & M eggs in the incubator now. I know I'm a ways from needing to know the answer to this question, but how do you tell the difference between the males and the females in an all white quail?

Thanks

When they reach sexual maturity the males will have a cloacal gland right above their vent. It will produce a white foam when the male is sexually active, you have to sqeeze the gland to see the foam. They should be mature around 8 weeks? I think... can't hardly remember.  Don't the males crow too? :?:

Thanks for the comeback. so there is no visual color difference. OK, so When he crows, I grab the sucker, turn him upside down and squeeze him. If I see foam, he goes on the gril. If not, she goes in the breeding pen. Maybe I should have chose the Jumbo Browns. LOL

Mine hatch on the 21st. I plan to keep the best females, plus some males. What ratio do you keep the males and females?
