What is the best food for released or johnny house quail?

What has anyone found to be the best food for johnny house & released birds?
I now feed either straight or a mixture of turkey grower, milo, & wheat.
Is there a benefit of flight conditioner?
Is there any feed that will keep the birds healthier than another type of food?
I put sand in the johnny house for grit.
