Any one out there order eggs from Lake Cumberland?  I did on May 7 and still have not received them.  I have called only to get voice mail and no return call.  I have emailed and not got a response.  I understand it is a busy time of year but an email or phone call isn't that big of a problem.  I ordered a 100 chukar and 100 bobwhites.  All I wanted to know was an estimated time of arrival so I could have my incubators up to temp and humidity.  I want to cancell my order but don't dare because I don't know if anyone has anymore chukar eggs or bobwhite.  At least now I am on the list,  hopefully.

I have ordered quail eggs and chicks from them for several years and their customer response is terrible by phone and email.

Their prices are good and I like the quality so far, but contacting them is really hard. My quail eggs were 4 weeks later than I had hoped and showed up unexpectedly. I also phoned and emailed asking for a quick note when they were shipped. 78% hatch rate for eggs shipped to me was good.

I have talked to them in the off season before.

There is a note on their website stating they are behind in egg shipments.

I've ordered from them a few times, but it's always been in january or february and they have always been prompt. May be do to demand being down that time of year. They are the closest place to me that has eggs that time of year, and hatch rate has always been good for shipped eggs in january. Cleanest eggs I've ever had too.

I ordered from them in early April.  I ordered on a Thursday so they would ship out the following Monday.  Never received the eggs.  Called again and was  promised they would ship out the next Monday.  Later that week,, still no eggs.  Finally, on the third Monday they shipped my eggs.  I ordered 250 eggs, and received 267.  Two were cracked.  157 eggs hatched out of the 265 that were put in the incubator.   You are eggs are probably going out later than expected.  Apparently they have been behind since April.  Personally, every time I called I was able to talk to someone (usually a women).  Never had a problem with contact.  I do live in the same state not that should make much of a difference.

Thank you everyone.  To let you know i recieved my eggs today even though I emailed and left a phone message last week Thursday to cancel my order.  I better keep them now but don't have enough incubators to put them in.  Anyone know of way for me to quickly get a cabinet incubator to me that I can buy please let me know.

That would depend on your location.

hey,
where are you at that you are needing an incubator? also how long till you have room - it might be worth it just to put them in the basement or something and wait a little while - cumberland i am sure ships out eggs under 3-4 days old so that should mean you still have some time. yes there is allot of conflict over storing eggs but if you turn them every day and have the right temp and humidity quail eggs will stay good for a 10 days - 2 weeks and i have had good hatches on 3 1/2 week old chukar eggs that i got from a friend that was going to throw them away because the buyer never came to get them

Good point Kyle
I too probably keep eggs too long, but they are usually ones I put in my own incubator. Not ones I sell, those should be as fresh as possible.

I do have some surplus and ship out some that are near the end to a friend but he dosen't give anything for them till after the hatch.
I just tell him, see how they turn out and give me whatever you think they are worth.

Sorry for not checking back sooner. I've been looking all over the internet and towns for a good cabinet incubator.  I talked to Chris from M&M gamebirds and he suggested a dickey.  I called them this morning and they had it on the UPS truck by 11:00 AM.  They also told me eggs should be fresh enough to keep in basement till it comes(which should be Monday but no later than Tuesday).  This couple is awesome.  To take a look at the incubator here is there web sight .  Thanks and next time I post something urgent I'll make sure I check back more often.

Received my dickey.  For being new to all this  I personally think it is an aw some incubator.  I also received a pamphlet with it and he sells what looks to be a nice brooder with automatic heat control for $70.00.  It is 4 ft. long, 16 inches high, and 24 inches wide.  I think I'll be ordering a couple of them,  will let you know how they work.

Very nice incubator and well built.  I have 6 of them and very pleased with them.  Be sure not to fill it to capacity with eggs unless you get a hatcher!

I'd like to see it too, how about I start a new post on this in a more appropriate category?

Thanks
