Flight pen length

Would you consider a 16' x 50' a flight pen ? Is this big enough to provide the birds with enough room to be flight conditioned? I have read two different views on lengths of pens.Some say keep them short so the bird can not glide but must flap others say they need to be 100 feet. What do yall think. Whats the max amount of birds you would put in a 16 x 50 pen.Thanks

Mine is 14 x 70  and it seems to work fine. The reason it's that size is that's the space I have to work with.

I personally don't think that the size of the flight pen is that big of a factor...of course it does need to be big enough so that the birds aren't crowded.  I think it's more important that the birds are weather conditioned and acclimated to wild conditions.

Your birds just need room to build wing muscles.  Keep them stirred up and they will be fine in 50 ft.

I would say the longer the better.. My 1st was 10 x 32 then to 28x30 then 28x55 the next will be 20x150... Each time the birds went to the biger pen the flew a lot better...I sell birds to hunters and use them for my dogs also
so I want them to fly fast and far....
