I am still trying to find out what kind of chicken feathers to raise for fly tying. I am considering raising some for that particular market. Any web-sites out there? Tim

Tim,

Grey jungle fowl hackles are some very indemande feathers for tying. They are a bit on the $$ side but the hackles sell for more than a pair of birds cost. (at least at me local cabela;s store they do)  I have also use starndard leghorns hackles(or some type of white chicken) They dye them so I have them in a few colors, and the work great.  Another chicken that works good are ones that have barred feathers. Such as barred rocks.
