Seems our weather here in Southern Illinois has been messed up for hunting.  It's been far too warm on most days and the few days it did get cold, we got 16-18 inches of snow which made it impossible to walk around in.  We have been out of town hunting in South Dakota and northern Illinois on the two weekends it has been excellent for hunting our southern region.  Instead of killing the usual 200 birds in a season, we have less than 50 in the bag this year!  We are not the only ones.  I know one avid hunter who has yet to go and season is on its way out!
Birds are getting some good conservation efforts this year and should be better because we haven't shot them to pieces.
