I HAVE BEEN READING WHERE SOME OF YOU HAVE BEEN GIVING YOUR CHICKS VITAMINS AND OR ELECTROLYTES IN THE WATER. I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS I HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN TAP WATER ONLY. DO YOU THINK IT HELPS THE CHICKS GET A BETTER START? AND WHAT DO YOU GIVE ? AND WHERE DO YOU GET IT ?  THANKS P.D. :D

I use "Vi-tal". It comes in a 6 oz. pack and almost every feed store around here cares it. I also put a teaspoon on sugar in the first container of water to give them an extry boost. I'm certain it helps get them up and going. I keep adding Vi-tal as they grow, but in lessor amounts. QuickChick is good too, but you have to order it.

I've given them pedialyte for the first helping of water.

Don't know if it makes a difference.
