I have been not posting new topics because the person-off-their-meds.

Not to bad, this is the 5th day. they seem to be staying with the hen under wing. If there is another bird around, the hen goes into the defensive mode.

I will just keep an eye out. If I have to, I have a brooder set up to get them out of harms way.

With the two hens sitting here, I'm trying to decide if I should let them hatch out. Bad time with the Ams one time. Never tried with the Reeves before: never trusted the male. However, the Reeves male, I've caught him covering eggs he thought the hen didn't cover well enough.

Then there is the troubles of getting rid of the young ones. Here too is hard to get rid of them.

Northern Bobwhites

« Reply #25 on: June 30, 2007, 04:48:00 PM »

Wheewwww!  I feel like a pigeon in a 2'x2' cage full of bobwhites being fed some sort of handfeeding formula out of a 38 lb bag of feed that the label was written with red ink in Tasquanova hanging off the side of a balcony facing the southern sky on a 110 degree day!   (EDIT): ...........and two 250 watt bulbs, 2 inches above my head!

   I'm 'bout to explode!

Trail breathe in deep, relax, take two shots of your brew and watch his stupidity fly! repeat as many times as nessicary until the words become blurry and unimportant. If all else fails he does have a pond in his "20'x 10' backyard he might just trip into. That could be a relaxing thought too.
