Thought I had a good memory. UB Mensa? In all fairness, this may be something different. What was the outcome/diagnosis last summer? I doubt this is molting, but since we don't have a clue as to the location of these birds, who knows? Why does it "seem" they are losing feathers? Bare backs? Feathers in cage/pen? If they have lost feathers from all over their bodies, it could be from panic. These birds are spastic. In my oppinion, a much "wilder" species than Bobwhite, or Ringnecked Pheasant. Even adult birds will over react to dogs, or 'coons at their pens, thunderstorms can cause hundreds in a pen to "commit suicide.
