do you have to have a permit to raise bobwhite quail in missouri and if so how and where can you get it
-
hey
yes you do - if they are northerns - no if the are mutations such as whites, Tennessee reds -Wisconsin's, Georgia giants, butlers, cunninghams, Mexican speckled, orange, tuxedo
just call your local conservation department and get the paperwork and an agent will come out and inspect your facility and if it meets the criteria they will sign the form.....

Does any one have an easy download for the criteria that the inspector will use?

thanks

all he is going to want is to see a pen that the birds are not going to get out of and get away. nothing certain otherwise
-
so you DO NOT need a permit for; whites, Tennessee reds -Wisconsin's, Georgia giants, butlers, cunninghams, Mexican speckled, orange, tuxedo?

There was a time when some folks took the position that Georgia Giants were exempt. Same with T.R. Chukar were exempt, until a couple of years ago (due to poor wording). Any of the Bobwhites are included in the Conservation Department's jurisdiction.

For $50, you can get a permit to hatch, raise, buy, and sell any game bird you can find. List everything you Might want to raise on your application. That way, you won't have to file an amended application, and wait for another inspection.
