I know this should be in the buy & sell, but not everyone reads that section.

Been thinking about building another V8 Pinto. I like the looks of the 71-73 small bumper ones.
Looking for one rust free or nearly so.

Do you know of any ? Even ones that are rusted out & sitting in a field: parts car(s).

Thought I'd toss this out, as we have a ton of members that cover a wide area of the States.

Other year Pintos ..... I may be interested in ?

If you do not want to post, send me a PM.

Note: I've done the Google thing lots. Looking for folks that have or have seen them sitting around.

Those things seem to have vanished along with the Chevette..............just don't see them around at all......anywhere!

What you really need is a 1970 Ford LTD 2dr coupe (I just happen to have one in my garage that I've owned for 30 years that I would sell to a good home).

70 LTD is a big heavy car that goes slow.

Pinto with big HP goes fast

May have found a Boss 302 (engine) with low original miles.

When/if I do one it will be completey stripped and painted in/on/around/under etc.

I like the one above, but it is way too scary to even start !
612 HP & turns in the 8s in a 1/4 mile.
I understand why there was a chute on it !

Guy that owns it is 68 & has been working on it to put it on the street !

I really like the narrowed diff & fatties on the back.
When/if I do another one, I'll do the same : except for the HP. 612 is too much fun  s020

That thing reminds me of a Gremlin and a Triumph that a friend of mine had built back in the 80's. The Gremlin was a work of art and won best paint at every car show it went too. He even made his own interior. The Triumph never got completely finished after he took it for a test drive the first time.......300hp nitrious oxide on a well built 400 Chevy small block, complete with blower was too much for that small of car. The torque of the engine alone about flipped the car over.  :-o It was wicked unsafe with just that engine, let alone with all the HP accesories to boot!  It was tubbed out so much there wasn't much room left for the rear axle diff between the rear tires.  He was disappointed with the handling of the monster and sold it unfinished.  It was a neat looking machine though, would have liked to seen it painted.

Found another one in the next Province over !
Going to look at it this Thursday or Friday & if it is OK, bring it home.
Has many of the parts etc I need (guy already started a V8 swap) plus the original drive train.
He had done a lot of other work on it as well.
302w goes with it.

Looks like I'll be building two  c50

Huge, huge waste of time !

I called and talked with the fellow before driving over. He said he chose that car due to it not having a rust problem.
Told me it is in good shape & that he had done lots of work on the interior.

So off I go on a road trip of over 1000 km, round trip.
I got there while he was still at work & got a good look at it.
The pan is so rusted out the seats are falling through the floor. If someone sat in a seat you would end up on the ground.
Rockers are completely ruted out & he filled them with expanding spray foam. Same with a pile of other holes.
It was in an accident at some past time, right front.
The inner fender was crudely sort of bent back. The front right tire sits about two inches back farther than the left side & nearly touches the back of the fender.

Car is junk. No idea how he got it in his head to try a V8 swap !  It is ready to buckle in half sitting there.

Then he tried to sell me the 302. It is out of an old truck. Never re-built. He put an Edelbrock Performer intake on it. For some completely unknown reason, he got an adapter plate & put a Quadrajet carb on it.
He wanted 300 for the engine. I passed on that.

The original engine & trans (auto) was taken out last summer & lay on it's side next to a fence. Claims it is a good engine.
Spedo cable hole open, facing up, for over a year now. It will be full of water, dirt & rust.

So, a 12 + hour trip for my health, I guess.
Really bugs me he knowingly lied to me......

Lots more was wrong with it but you get the point....
