I have never used netting before on top of my pens...only wire. So I am having a hard time installing this stuff, it says that this netting is 12.5ft. wide and my pens are 12ft. so I though no problem. I installed it on the front but then when I try to staple it to the pen on the sides it doesn't fit like it is not wide enough and it gets really tight in the front were it is connected and then I can't get it on the sides. This might not make any sense but ask questions if don't understand but can anyone give me advice on how to install netting?

                                                  Thanks for Your Time!

I have never installed "netting", I have always used wire.  But, when putting the tonnoeu cover on the bed of my truck, it always goes on much easier if I snap all 4 corners on first, then go front to back, then side to side.  It should work under the same principal I imagine, and it should  insure to have enough to go all the way around?    Just an idea.

  Eemagine that!

If I have to do it alone, I try to work down one side 10-15 feet then the other, using temporary fasteners.  Continue this, until finished.  Then go back, and stretch it more, preferably after it has been in warm sunlight a few hours.  Pre-stretching before you start can help too.

yes I am 16 and ever since I have had birds I have to build all my pens pretty much by myself. That is what I did work down 5ft. on one side then the other...

Well, it works until I get about 1/2 away down the pen and then I can't get the netting to stretch far enough...I started with about 6ft. extra over the front of the pen and work down length wise and when I got about 12 ft. the netting got really tight and I couldn't stretch it any further with keeping it tight along the board....should I leave it loose when I staple it onto the boards because when I was nailing it to the boards I was keeping it tight...this might not make that much sense, but bear with a first time netting guy

What I would do: staple all along the top first (not in sections at a time , do the whole one side) leave a couple extra feet at the end , the rest of the roll around the corner. Then go back where you started and do the bottom. Do the same till all the way around the pen. Go back to the starting point and do the end. Go to the end & do it.

If that don't work, ask that numbskull Charlie what he would do
