sick pet quail

i could use some help. i have 2 pet jap cortunix quails. i keep them in the house. ive had them going on 4 years. one is sick right now. he has been sick 2 other times over the years. i have treated him with bacitracin methylene disalicylate in his water. it seemed to work the other times. i'm hoping this is the same thing. he is all puffed up,pretty much stays in his bed,doesn't call. he is eating and drinking a little. he also seems to shake his head.ill take him to the vet if i have to,i,m very attached to them. does anyone have any suggestions?
