Don't know what happen to your pheasant chicks. I feed my Ring-necked Pheasant chicks 28% medicated turkey starter. I also put the turkey starter in a blender to grind it up finer. I also add GQF-Vitamins Plus in their water.

My brooder temp is 95* and I have 171 chicks in there as I type. I have to move another 57 chicks oue to the barn broooder tomorrow morning.

Give us some more information on what you did from the start of the hatch.

If they turkey starter was in crumbles it shold of been fine, was there any kind of draft in the room, birds are just looking for a way to die, you gotta really watch them.

there wasnt a draft in the place where i
had them ,are they hard to raise,
but the truckey starter has to be fine
in order for them to eat it maybe that
wasthe problem.

Stanley Roberts,

If you were grinding up the medicated turkey starter to a fine meal, this would be fine. I always run my medicated turkey starter through the blender. Most of the turkey starters are to course, (bigger then normal) for the day old pheasant chicks.  Are you dipping their beaks into the water after moving them from the hatcher?

I have hatched out so far 174 pheasant chicks and 7 died while still in the shell. The most important thing to do after the 24hr dry time in the hatcher is to dip their beaks into some water. I have another hatch due to be moved April 30th into the hatcher.
Good luck in your hatch.
