Title: Chickens, cows, horses, and...Lemurs?
Post by: jaime7997 on June 16, 2008, 10:03:49 PM
Thought I'd share some photos from the farm today.... There's lots to look through, but if you're like me, you have nothing better to do late at night....
FYI--The Barred Rock rooster in the pictures is one that I hatched out 7 years ago! 7!!!
And the ducks were from my hatch on 4/25/08. They're huge! The one has the wonderful fro.... The chicks are from a week earlier. They're doing great! Haven't lost a one!
Enjoy! a31

I was surprised to see that picture of "Reeves" out in the barn in there.........at first I thought it was him with his hair combed over his face.................

........then I realized it was the hind end of a horse.   :-|

Thanks for sharin' the pics!
----------------------------------------------------

By the way, hows that brooder been working out?

You wouldn't happen to have any Golden Comet roosters that you'd be interested in parting with, would you?

The lemur was purchased at the Mt Hope Exotic Sale in Mt. Hope, Ohio. They have sales 3 times yearly. Next ones in September if anyone's interested. Plan on selling some birds there... I think it was about $700, not sure, step-mom wouldn't cough up any real numbers! He's pretty cool, he hangs out with the cats! Curls up on the chairs with them and everything. Likes marshmallows and raisins as treats. Kinda neat.

The brooder box is working great! I put some pine branches in a couple days ago for them to hide in, they LOVE them! Even Dan Quail is in there now, and can't pick him out from the group. He's doin great. Maybe shouldn't have put him back in the bunch, but...

I don't know if they have and extra comet roosters... I truely don't know most of the breeds of them! oops. I'll ask!

Sorry for not rotating the pictures, my computer is running out of memory and I uploaded them onto Photobucket at the last minute, forgot to go thru and do that. But, really, it is kinda hillly here, in southeastern Ohio!

Well I think that is just really neat...does it use a liter box like the cats??? Was it real small when you got it??? Is it a boy or a girl??? And does it have a smell ??

Well, you must not have looked all that closely at the photos....  s020 It's a boy.... He likes to display his junk when he sits around... He is 3 years old, so he was adult when we got him this spring. He goes on the papers around the litterbox sometimes, but honestly, he kinda just goes most of the time...ick. I know. Not my house.... Nevertheless, he is pretty neat!!
