I raise barred rocks and here of late our eggs are very hard to break... The shell is plenty hard enough but  the membrane under the shell is so tuff you have to almost  poke your finger thru it to get the eggs out, while doing this  you end up with shell in everything...I'm using Hubbard feed, 17% egg layer granules...I also have one hen laying a egg everyday with a calcum build up on the point end,, Do i need to feed a feed with less calcum, the bag reads calcum min2.9% and max3.9... Well if anyone has run into this themselves and could  lend a little advice it sure would help...
