Title: Winter Feeding
Post by: mark on October 25, 2007, 02:16:19 AM
Is it a good idea to feed Bobwhites ground up corn in winter to bulk them up to help keep them warm. I heard this from some one that raised chickens.

 Any Truth to this.

anything high in carbs will fatten them up. I guess if it gets really cold there then it would help. Doesn't get too cold here and mines do fine just on gamebird grower/maintainer(~24% protein and bit more carbs then Starter) They'll tend to eat more during this time anyways to build up that fat layer.
