How the weather..

..fairing out there by you. Weather here has been dry the last couple of weeks with scattered t-storms producing little or no rain at all.

They predict rain today here in my area of WV. Nothing so far, just heavy cloud cover and temps @ 9am, 78* and quite muggy.

We've got quite a bit of rain here over the last 2-3 weeks... probably about 7 or 8 inches in all. That's quite a jump for us, as it was starting to get pretty dry and it usually never rains like that (at least not 4 inches in 2 days) during Summer.

Have you seen any floods in your area? I know TX got hit pretty bad.

Here in WHitney Texas The lake is still up 23 feet and still rising due to other lakes up stream still letting out. All state parks around the lake lake are under water, even the bathrooms. The humidity is running in the 90's and temps reaching 100 or close to it. We are freezing water bottles to put in pens with the birds and have ALOT of fans running for them.  Our average rainfall per year is 34" and right now we are at 61". Coccilious is running rampant in local farms and having alot of baby chicks dying. Right now we have lost probably 15 chicks in the last month and are using Amprolium to treat the chicks and to prevent it. A guy at the feed store lost over a 100 chicks in one week due to it. With yards standing 6" in water for days at a time the only thing you can do is build more cages and get them on wire, prevent it on top of medicated feed, tarp everything and try to get it dry. We have put 10" of peagravel in all our pens to raise them up even more, and so far have not had anymore problems in a week. Luckly the rain has started to let up.

We here in MN really need rain!!!! We have only gotten about a inch in the last month and a half. It has been in the high 80's and 90's and really humid for he last 2-3 weeks. The grass is mostly brown. The ground is soooo dry that I can barely dig more than a few inches. I have to add water to the holes. The birds are barely laying any eggs too. Anyway we need rain.
