when cooking the old birds(that are over 3yrs.old) what is the best
way to cook them to asure that they would be tender enough to
eat and not be a wast of time?

Clean them...and put them in a slow cooker with water and your favorite seasonings like onion soup mix cook all day until tinder . When done take the birds out of the cooker and add a little flour and thicken up the gravy a little then make some rice and biscuits and dig in.Or boil them in water on top of the stove until tender then split them and cook on grill until golden brown season to taste or when you take them out of the boiling water split them and fry in a cast iron skillit on top of stove like you do a chicken..
