I put grass clippings and haygrass in the pen. The birds made a nest in the back corner of the enclosed part of the pen. They lay their eggs in the nest, but they won't lay on them. They will lay a clutch and then abandon the spot until you remove the eggs. You may try to use a dummy egg on a pile of grass and they will hopefully make that their nesting place. For a dummy egg just use an old quail egg or a rock shaped like an egg painted white. Hope this helps/
