Title: young quail losing feathers
Post by: canderson on July 26, 2009, 06:25:13 PM
I have young quail in my pen and I have been seeing a few what look like long tail feathers in the pen. The birds are all healthy looking  and have plenty of food and water. Is this part of matureing or do I have a future problem brewing?

Could be molting, could be problems.

How do  I know the difference? I tend to think they are molting since everyone looks healthy as butterballs ,eating well and drinking. Not many feathers just look like long tail like feathers. Other than that all looks well.

My flight pen and brooder house totals 12x72, I have about 85 birds that are 5 weeks old. That's enough room ,right?
