I have about 35 ring neck pheasants that I raised from eggs.  They appear to be very healthy, they eat lots and are drinking well.
they are bout 8 weeks old, so are all feathered and even starting to show some color.  In the last few days they have started loosing the feathers on their backs between their wings.  anyone have any ideas why this might be, and how to remedy it?

Sounds like they are too crowded and are picking at each other (cannabalism).

Hi,
i think their losing feathers because it might be molting season for them. Its natural for them to do this

Don't birds molt in the fall?

not at 8 weeks old. I would guess picking. I guess it is a bit late though since this topic was started almost a year ago.
