Had a lady call last night and she has button quail. She asked me about the recipe, for vinegar, and what ever else you mix, to help in the ammonia odors. I'm sure I read this one time or another on this site. If you can help would appreciate, this lady was very nice and I told her I would ask the people on this site, for the answer.  Thanks yote1

I do not know about that. The only way I know to keep it down is keep everything cleaned up.

Wiping down with vinegar does help.

But it'll get better, I'm changing my socks tonight.  p33

I believe it's one teaspoon per gallon for drinking water.  Three to five times that amount to spray deodorize.

I use "Nature's Odor Eliminator".  It's used the same way, but is a yucca based product.  I think it works better.

Obviously, neither is a substitute for frequent shoveling (or whatever a person would use to clean up after Button Quail).

Jake is right about the vinegar. I had a tenant move out one time, and they let cats urinate in the house for years, and I didnt know it. We tried everything to get rid of the smell, tomatoe juice, lysol, bleach, you name it. The only thing that would have an effect on it was vinegar, full strength.
That is her short term fix. Long term is to keep her place clean, and she wont have that problem
