We managed to get our Pet quail past an egg binding (first egg) and prolapsed and pasty butt by soaking her underside in hot water.  Out came the egg (normal size) and she cleaned up nicely.  Much like bathing a cat, traumatic for all.  She feels much better but acts like another is on the way.  How many eggs might a celibate quail lay?

As long as her photoperiod is inducing egg-laying, she'll be pumping them out, I guess.
I don't  know about Gambles, but if it were a coturnix with that problem, you would either kill and eat it, or reduce its photoperiod to about 8 hours a day to cease the egg-laying.
Google quail and photoperiod, if you don't know what I am talking about.
Good luck to ya.
