i have a problem with a pheasant it has a whole in the beak. Ive just notice this in the past  couple of days. He is in the cage with some quail i had 8 quails to begin with one was killed by the pheasant and the other just died not sure why. the pheasant has been like a mother to the quail watching over them but now with this he is like scared of them. the cage can not be enter by anything unless it goes through the door can any one add any insight for me thanks in advance.

firstly, pheasant should probably not be in same area as quail, motherly instincts or not. now about the beak, is it keeping the pheasant from eating or drinking? does it look like an infection or like something went through the beak?

Are the Quail Bobwhites ? They'll run the Pheasant into the ground. Nasty buggers.

You should never mix species: move the Pheasant, or the Quail.
