I have a minor problem with my incubator. Before i go to bed the temperature is 100 degrees, when i wake up to turn the eggs the temperature is 98. Should i increase the temperature to 102. Just below 103 so my temperature decreases to 100 instead of 98, or is that too hot?

I am incubating Coturnix quail.

I personally would not raise it since the little giants recommend hatching at 100 degrees. Your hatch might be a little late from the lower temp but at least you won't cook the eggs that way. I would not let it drop below the 98 degrees either. Be careful adjusting that little giant, if it is the one with a circuit board it is REALLY touchy.

Hi Chris! Giving it another try? It gets easier as you go along. I still wonder each time a set is due if I haven't killed them all this time. With a still air incubator I would try to have it between 101 and 99. They can and do fluctuate and the adjusting knob is a bit touchy. You will notice that the temperature will rise in the last week of incubating as the chicks develop, they give off heat too. Just tweak it down a little Good luck and let us know how it goes. I have coturnix hatching out today and Friday I have Bobwhites due to hatch.

Hey Chris I sent you a pm. I also sent you just over 100 eggs today. how many eggs do you have now, you should be able to hatch these too you may have to build a little divider and separate the eggs at hatch time. well i wish you the best with the hatch. keep us informed on how they do.

Hi ya'll,
I just put 108 Wisconsin Bobwhite eggs in my forced air Little Giant Saturday. Dry bulb temp is 99.5-100 f and wet bulb is 85-88 f. It'll drop to about 99 dry and top out at about 100.5.

pamike I know, I had one and you couldn't even move it 1/16" without it changing 2 degrees. One hatch after I got it, it broke. So my mom bought one off of a guy and it has the wafers. It is so good.
