Title: Ok, I know they are not Quail, but Gouldian Finches --
Post by: countryboy on May 01, 2004, 09:41:43 PM
Ok, I have been doing some research this evening on Gouldian Finches & I am now wondering, can a person hatch them in an incubator?  I would think these would need to be hand fed, has anyone tried this?

I currently use a Lyon TX-6 Automatic incubator to hatch Coturnix Quail & I currently have 48 Button Quail eggs in there due to hatch in 16 days, but my ever drifting mind & interest have turned to the Gouldian Finches but their initial price for a mated pair is steep (160.00), so if I can find a source for some eggs, I would love to give it a go. (IF it can be done)

But, it sounds like I will still need a mated pair of finches to raise them... s
but then, if I have a mated pair... I guess I won't need to hatch the eggs....
