Remember the Bobwhite Quail
who showed up out of nowhere and
started eating and roosting w/ our chickens
back in November?
Well, tonight she was roosting on TOP
of one of the chickens...a Black Jersey Giant.
When my husband went back to take
a pic, of course she'd moved off.  Sigh.
We'll try to catch that again.  --At the least, I'll
try to get a pic of her sleeping
the way she prefers on cold nights:  wedged
so tightly between two chickens, that you can
hardly see her.  Our chickens don't mind her
a bit, and she gets right into the feeders, with
them pecking all around her.  She struts around
like she owns the place.
If only she wouldn't wait til the last minute to
fly into a tree when the cats come around.  -We've
already had a couple of close calls...

Well, the quail is roosting on the chickens again, and this
time we have pictures!  However, they aren't digital, so
I'll scan them in as soon as we get them back!

Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing?
