Unintentional Mnt. and Valley quail mix

Well like the title says...I hatched a few of what seemed to be valley quail eggs out for my uncle.(speckled) He had said he had a male valley with a mnt. quail. The eggs were exactly like valley quail eggs so I thought perhaps it was a female valley. Still I wasn't sure if mix breeding was possible between the two. He only had them in the same pen for a short period. Chicks were exactly like valleys so I had to wait till they matured. Funny thing is....as they matured it was still hard to tell...but I noticed them making weird calls that I did not recognize as Mountains nor Valley quail calls. LOL So today upon closer inspection...yea they look mixed. They are the same size as my Mountain quails but have that black mask like Valleys.
