Not like me to not take in progress pictures. First I laid down filter cloth. I built a base frame out of pressure treated 4" x 4". Then built another one around it. The land tilts two ways, so needed the outside to hold the 3/4" crush inside. I then raised the inside base frame & pounded in the crush to hold it up level.
I then screwed in 4' tie downs in each corner. This is to hold the building in high winds. The 4"x4" are held in place by 2' rebar every 2-3'.
I didn't put the short 2x4s between the studs. I am putting full length 2x4s inside to hold the shelf backs.
Hope to get it done before frost/snow fly !

Looking good Reeves Never have enough space, what do you have going in there, more Pintos? Good idea on the tie downs, neighbor that raises calves had a 50' x 30' 3 sided structure lift up and topple over last year

I have 3 Pintos right now. I'm calling one a parts car. The other 2 are in the 26 x 24 shop. Both torn apart. Not much room left ! New barn will have shelves all the way to the roof on 2 sides. Wife wanted it big enough to pull her Ford Ranger inside during summer hail storms. We'll see if there is room after 6 months

Looks good Reeves! Makes me jealous, I started a 12x20 for my tractor 2 years ago and only got as far as the poles set in the ground.......then the back issues set it. 6 months?....I bet you'll start filling it up before the last nail is drove!

No nails (or thumbs) will be harmed in this project......all coated screws ! Wife's 20' x 12' tent like garage lasted one year. Those tarp like things are a waste of money. The stuff in there will go into the new barn/garage. (she calls it "her garage" - I call it a storage barn )

Don't know.....
Was sick all day Sat. Wanted to go at noon......had to stay for a full 12 hr day. So, didn't drive home that night. Was going to stay there Sunday, but the wife messed her back up - again. May be a ruptured disk. So of to home & even though no rain was in the forecast, rain all day.
Beavers have been clear cutting my shelter belt along the lane way. Spent 1/2 the day clearing trees from the lane way ! They are being "managed" by the wife & a trapper......
No work on the building till next week end.

Home ! Weather looks good for the next week. Except for the frosty nights......so I'll stay off the roof in the mornings ! Should be able to get it useable in this time ? The vinyl siding will go on next spring. Do not really want to try dealing with that stuff in below 0 temps.
All work will now be done by me lonesome......wife messed up her back again - last time it was a ruptured disk. Not sure if it the same this time till the MRI is done.

I like that you already have the table and chairs set up for a relaxing drink on the back patio

Table & chairs are for my "Boss" to sit & give "advice" Spent 5 days home this time. Had thought I'd get it all done in 3. I still have the door to build. I'd start at 4 AM and work to (or near) dark. Or when I was ready to fall down. Not an easy job to do myself & at my age...... Feel like I've been run over by a train ! Back wall will be for hanging stuff. Have a ton (or several tons) of stuff to move into it yet.
