I was wondering if it is ok to spray paint breeder cages with kid-safe rustoleum?  It is nontoxic when dry.  I was thinking of using this as a preventative measure.  I know my cages will eventually rust and was hoping this would prolong it from happening.  What are y'all's thoughts?

i cant see why not as long as you don't let your birds around it when you are spray painting them and while the cages are still wet
